InTents-FAQ's

Here are some “Frequently Asked Questions” about InTents at Second Baptist Church on October 11-12, 2008. 7:30PM – 10:30AM.

Do I have to pre-register?
No, but it is appreciated if you print off, fill out the pre-registration form; that is available online, and bring that to the fourth floor anytime or with your child when you arrive the night of.

Where do we go when we get there?
ALL JHigh Woodway students wanting to participate must meet and check in between the playground and the football field

What if I don’t have a tent?
Sorry we are unable to provide tents for everyone so we will need you to coordinate that with some other families. We request that each family be responsible for the setting up and tearing down of the tents at 7PM and 7AM respectively. Or maybe this would be a great time to purchase that needed family tent for the summer vacation…See Academy or Oshman’s for selections.

Are my kids going to be secure?
Yes! We will have a girls village and a guys village and they will not be allowed to enter the opposite village. We will also have our Student Ministry Staff and awesome adult leaders to provide the needed fun and safety for the students!

What if I don’t have the money?
If $25 is the biggest concern for not coming we ask that you come anyway. We ask that you pay what you can. It is our heart that money is never a reason for not being able to attend.

What happens during the evening?
We will spend the night outside "in tents", have a cook-out, a worship service, glow-in-the-dark games, a movie outside, s'mores and more. Then we'll wake up for breakfast and Bible Study on Sunday October 12th and attend the 9:30 service as a student ministry.

What happens in the morning?
In the morning if you can arrive between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM to assist your child in tearing down their tent, clean up and pack, we would greatly appreciate it. We cannot be responsible for the setting up and tearing down of that many tents.

What is my role as a parent?
What we ask you to do is come and help get the student situated and then give them a great big hug and say we will see you in the morning! In the morning it is very important that we get the tents taken down in a timely manner by 8AM and the fields/designated areas are left spotless. Thanks so much helping us.
